Team Throttlerz..

Location: Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) India
Team Members: Throttlerz is comprised of 3 main Stunt riders Biju, Padmaprashanth and Sathyraraj, and it is now Vinodh, Logesh who are emerging into typical stuntriding . We are a family of 40 dedicated members and 20 brilliant beginners.

Bikes: We make use of PULSAR 220, KTM DUKE 200, APACHE RTR 180, HERO CBZ Extreme 150 bikes for our practice sessions.

• Performed with Freestyle Stunt Riding Champion Chris Pfeiffer during his Indian Tours with Redbull in 2011.
• We got our biggest break in Delhi (capital of India) Auto Expo where we introduced the all New Hero Impulse. We performed for Impulse bike launch from Hero Motors.
• We are the first team to perform drop Wheelie (without front wheel)
• Padma Prashanth from our team is equivalent to international riders in speedy performances. He is one of the top riders in Indi .
• As a professional stunt team, we are the first to perform shows for KTM .
• As professionals, we are the first team to perform more than 90 shows for TVS exclusively for Apache in Southern India.
• Popular dailies and magazines have published about our team, performances for leading companies and others.  More than 60 such articles have been published about Throttlerz.
• Our team has The Best Sponsors.  Currently we hold the most number of sponsors in this field.

Throttlerz: We started team THROTTLERZ initially with 3 riders. The name THROTTLERZ came when we were having a pretty serious discussion about biking and stunts. The origin of our team name actually came from "throttle" thus giving birth to THROTTLERZ. We never miss out our practice sessions and this is where some youngsters approached us to learn freestyle stuntriding. After some selection tests and scrutiny based on merit, we selected the deserving riders. It’s obvious that only few stay in this field because it requires complete dedication. We have thus molded our team riders for complete stunt performances for shows and other events. We never fail to carry the message about safe riding to people. We don’t entertain youngsters to perform without safety gears & also street riding. It is always a Strict "NO" from Throttlerz.

Coimbatore is our home Town and here we have the 3rd biggest circuit racing track. People often mess up with racing and stunting but we make sure to make a distinction between the two through our videos, for a better understanding of this sport. Despite of facing several problems, our love for this sport could never deter us from chasing our dreams. We do lack proper practice spots and it’s even more difficult when the number of riders increase. We take turns during practice sessions to utilize the best maximum space, still mastering new tricks and that’s how our idea of drop wheelie was brought into action. We are trying our best to promote this sport and set a base for the upcoming generations so that they don't face the problems we did.

How did you begin working with KTM and what do people think of the KTM brand in India?

Throttlerz: It was KTM that started rendering support for Stunt Riding and racing after Pulsar in India. KTM is the largest selling premium motorcycle brand in the country. We never wanted to miss this opportunity and thus approached KTM without making any delay.  KTM decided to provide discount for our bikes and also offered us stunt shows. So far we have performed 11 successful shows for KTM in the last 6 months. We are also a part of their “Orange Day”, the event bleeds orange and races are organized by KTM in the heart of Tier I & II cities.

 The number of motorcycle racing enthusiasts in India are more than what most people think. KTM DUKE was the “Bike of the Year 2012”. Youngsters opt for KTM bikes though it is expensive. KTM DUKE 390 is yet to release but only a few people are aware about this brand new bike which is expected to be launched next month.

Tell us how you prepare your KTM’s for stunt riding please list and describe all modifications.

Throttlerz: Well, we choose stock KTM bikes. Unlike most other overseas riders we ensure to maintain the originality of the bikes and hence never alter the tanks of our KTMs. Our modification comprises of nothing but a proper handbrake setup which is a basic requirement for freestylers.

Do you perform for other brands or only for KTM?

Throttlerz: Yes, we do perform for other brands. We are performing for TVS Apache, HERO & recently it is KTM. An Approximate of 50+ shows every year. We always look for a long lasting relationship with every company for whom we perform shows.

What kind of events and projects you have planned for this year?

Throttlerz :  We are set ready for performing  Stunt Shows organized by KTM in South India. Our very next schedule will be for TVS Apache, one of the leading bike brands in India.

 We are elated with pride to announce that Ashish Ranjan from our team is working on a project which aims to bring the first stunt-magazine in India. He is making an endeavor to redefine something which has been around in India for quite a long time now. Having had the honor and privilege to be named " FREESTYLE " by the godfather of stuntriding Ac Farias, the magazine is going to be a lifestyle based motorcycle magazine that covers all aspects of Sportbike Stunt Riding .We are the ultimate motorcycle stuntriding lifestyle based publication and the one and only magazine in India that covers the motorcycle stunt riding community exclusively. Expected to hit the market by the month of August, the magazine is going to have all the news from around the stunt world along with other exclusive stunt content.

Besides, we are eagerly planning to organize Safety Awareness Program with assistance from Coimbatore Police. Our serious outlook is on establishing a Stunt School for youngsters who are interest in stuntriding. A video shoot with the best stunt figures in India is one of our future plans.
