MUMBAI: The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), in response to complaints about a TV commercial which shows dangerous stunts, has asked for withdrawal or modification of the advertisement.
. The advertisement had raised the hackles of activists as well as the traffic police in the city as it showed a man and, subsequently, a woman getting dressed while riding the motorcycle. The matter was first reported on July 1
"Responding to my complaint, ASCI said in an email that it had concluded that it showed 'an everyday activity being performed on the bike in an irresponsible manner'," Bina Balakrishnan, a sustainable transportation policy consultant, said. "The ASCI stated that it had asked the advertiser to withdraw or modify the commercial before July 15 and had received an assurance of compliance."
